Flight time vs working time

In addition to the pure flight time, working time includes all preparatory work and flight related activities, such as reading and editing flight documentation, briefings with cockpit and cabin crew, flight preparation and also the work to be done after passengers have disembarked. This often does not fit within the time set for all preparations and things to be handled after the flight. The calculation of the hours to be paid is usually only the time between starting and turning off the engines. Waiting periods due to bad weather conditions, missing passengers, etc. are not reimbursed. Studying the rules and preparations for flights and simulator training often happen in personal free time.
